Biodiversity Conservation in the Heart of Borneo
The KALYRA project area is located within the Heart of Borneo National Strategic Area, home to various Dayak tribes and endangered wildlife species including the proboscis monkey (bekantan) and orangutan.
The concession comprises Primary Dryland Tropical Forest (23,270 ha) as the dominant land cover, providing critical habitat for flagship flora and fauna species.
Our conservation strategies focus on protecting endangered wildlife species through habitat preservation, anti-poaching measures, and restoration of degraded areas using native food-tree species.
The project area supports a rich ecosystem of flagship flora and fauna, with approximately 89% of the land area qualifying for carbon project activities — ensuring conservation and climate objectives advance together.
