Community Empowerment & Gender Mainstreaming

Our Community Empowerment programme places gender mainstreaming at its core. KALYRA features a female-led project team and partnerships with female-focused NGOs such as HWDI (Alliance for Women With Disabilities Indonesia).

We partner with HWDI to create opportunities for local women, promote locally-sourced goods through Koperasi Merah Putih, and ensure equitable benefit-sharing across all community initiatives.

Our programmes pipeline includes providing free medical check-ups to local communities with special attention to women and children, essential goods distribution (baby formula, sanitary products, vitamins), and employment creation.

We estimate approximately 15,000 jobs to be created over the course of the 40-year project timeline, with a focus on capacity building and sustainable livelihood development.
