Forest Restoration Through Ecosystem-Based Approach
Our Forest Restoration initiative improves habitat quality through an Ecosystem-based Approach (EbA), replanting native species across the concession area in East Kalimantan.
The project uses the Verra VM0047 methodology for Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR), with 32 annual planting cohorts of approximately 1,000 ha each, established sequentially over a 40-year crediting horizon.
The cohort-based strategy ensures operational realism (nursery and labor capacity bound annual planting), risk diversification (staggered planting limits exposure to climate, fire, pest, and mortality risks), and methodology compliance under VM0047.
Planting includes various species beneficial for food and conservation, including Rare, Threatened and Endangered (RTE) tree species, supporting both ecological restoration and community livelihoods.
